REIKI
& JIKIDEN REIKI
‘Reiki’ (pronounced
‘ray-key’) means ‘Universal life force’.
Working to create a balance of the physical body, the mind, the emotions
and the spirit... Reiki is a form of healing which originated in Japan
at the beginning of the 20th century.
Jikiden means Direct
Line or Directly Taught and is a pure form of hands on healing which has
been undiluted by Western influence. It concentrates primarily on the
head and the feet as well as on the affected area in the case of a
specific condition. It can be effective for both physical conditions
and for psychological & emotional problems, such as phobias, low self
esteem, guilt, etc.
During the treatment
the client remains fully dressed and is covered with a blanket. Reiki
energy is channelled through the practitioner, and directed by the need
or imbalance in the receiver.
Reiki is deeply relaxing and very soothing, the benefits may include:
·
Encouraging
the body's innate ability to heal itself
·
Easing pain
and discomfort
·
Release of
stress
·
Boosting of
the immune system
·
Increasing
and maintaining physical, emotional and mental strength
·
Releasing
past traumas
·
A deep sense
of wellbeing
For maximum benefit
clients should initially commit to three sessions as close together as
possible, to allow time for the energy to act on the root of the problem
and to work deeply within the body. Chronic problems may take much
longer to react to treatment as Reiki is working on the causal level of
dis-ease rather than on physical symptoms.
A Jikiden Reiki treatment lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. A shorter
session can be added on to any other treatment – please see Combination
Treatments.
